The Introduction to Theology course will seek to address basic theological foundations. It will be based mainly on the branch of theology called Systematic Theology. The course will also address aspects of non-Christian concepts of God and other forms of world religion to give the students a greater appreciation of Christian Theology.

This course will focus on the roots and identity of the Church of God of Prophecy (COGOP) and its government and polity. In order to accomplish the objectives of the course, an in-depth examination of the history of the COGOP from its inception will be undertaken. In writing about history, Geoffrey Elton states, “The purpose of history is to understand the past, and if the past is to be understood it must be given full respect in its own right” (R.J. Evans, 1999:197). The biblical text tells us one of the primary reasons of history is “These things happened to them as examples and were written down as warnings for us, on whom the fullfilment of the ages has come” (1 Cor. 10:11 NIV). This course will honour the past, review the present, and project into the future.

This course is designed to expose students to the method of biblical interpretation. It will help the student who is an interpreter of the Bible to understand the art or science of biblical interpretation. Students will explore the interpreting journey through the process of Observation, Interpretation and Application. They will research key terminologies; determine the meaning of the word of God; and bridge the gap between their minds and the minds of the biblical writers. Students will engage in 5 hours of internship at a local church.

This course gives an introductory survey of the nature, history, background, revelation inspiration, canonization, transmission (translation) and content of God's written word, with attention given to various critical approaches. It aims to provide the student with an overview of the Scriptures for contextualization.

This course is designed to expose students to basic techniques in counselling. The course focuses on issues that people in general face, but special emphasis will be placed on situations within the Caribbean context. It is assumed that students themselves have pursued \ are pursuing their own healing so as to prevent counter transference. The scripture is the standard by which all theories and techniques are measured.

Students will enroll to view their final course grade as per semester, as well as have easy access to monitor their individual progress overtime using their student ID number.

An internship is a period of practice immediately following (or for on-and off periods during) a course of professional training. It is often refereed as to as an apprenticeship where a novice or one without experience in a field of study works closely with an experienced practitioner who acts as supervisor or mentor. The intern develops insights and deepens his/her understanding of church leadership and administration, and the role of personal witnessing and ministry through engagement and reflection on practice in church and community–based settings.
